Character Planning

Character 1: Katie :-
This is the main character of the whole film. She is used to show that she doesn't agree with love, she may have had a bad experience with it in the past.
- She will be in the opening scene bumping through a couple.
- We have chosen this character as she is a simple everyday person that you wouldn’t expect something like this to happen to. Doing this means that it makes her relatable to the audience

Character 2:-
This is the second character that is not a key character within the film. She is used to show the main characters attitudes towards love.
- She will open the film with her ‘boyfriend’ as they walk hand in hand.
- We have chosen her as she is the perfect tall blonde girl. Doing this helps to highlight the fact that the main character is jealous and hates love because she feels she is not perfect like girls like this character.

Character 3:-
- This character is not a key character, but is simply used to show the main characters attitudes towards love.
- He will open the film by walking hand in hand with his girlfriend. We have chosen a realistic couple to show everyday life, rather than showing the “perfect” couple.
- We decided that we wanted him to look like an inviting person, doing this will show the difference clearly between the couple and the main character.

Reflection: In our final film opening we only used character one as we felt that the ideas we previously had in which we used all three actors did not really represent the idea that we wanted to get across and it didn't particularly create any sort of enigma which we felt was crucial to our film opening’s success.

Character One was always planned to be our main character however when we used all three our main character wasn't as obvious and neither was her hatred of love as she looked like an extra used in the background. After some thinking we changed our entire aspects we watched a lot of film openings and really like the Napoleon Dynamite idea of using the main character to create enigma by not showing her face just objects she comes across
